Dave that is a very depressing suggestion! Maybe try to believe that bike theft isn't a fact of life.

Dave, instead of stolen bikes, how about, "hang onto your bike" / bike security, like Derek's suggestion.

You mean it's not?

I maybe didn't empathise that because I've not had a bike stolen yet. Thought having a place to inform our users of what's gone missing and what to look out for would be better than half way through a random Rides thread.

It would probably get flooded on the run up to Christmas anyway. I. Remember roughly 6 or so go missing on our forum alone q4 of last year.
