Hi all just heads up, heading out to do some byways and public ways of West Sussex, Hampshire and Surrey nothing to tricky ( apart from the wet chalk ) but out all day.
I'll be leaving from the Shell Station Broadbridge Heath West Sussex RH12 3NS at 0930hrs and heading down to Whiteways cafe at Bury Hill Houghton Arundel, West Sussex BN18 9FD.
Should be at the cafe for 1030 after picking up Toby from Southwater on-route.
So you could meet us there if your based on the coast (thumbs)
The plane is to do a big loop heading west and back around to Horsham
Please note that this is a reccy route for an event later in the year, so there will be stopping and map marking and probably a few U turns.

Re: Southern ride Friday 14 Aug
Should have gone on the 15th as the 14th was nothing but flash flood and pi%%ing down all day ,we did manage to get the whole loop done, but the lanes were ether flooded or like an ice ring with smooth hard chalk with the added bonus of torrent of water coming off the downs.
Still managed 110 miles.
Flint rock base bit of a climb on the way to Butser Hill (thumbs)
Sheltering from the rain for all the good it did
Some of the lane that Phil and I did on Monday when they were bone dry
Frencham sands or should that be Frencham Muds
All in all a good day and good training for Wales (thumbs)
