FORUM PROBLEMS

Postby kris » Mon Dec 03, 2012 8:19 am

The Surrey TRF forum curse hit again meaning we have currently lost all our recent posts and folks will have to re-register to get back on the forum.

Dave's provider let him down big time and so please bear with us during this time.

Cheers

At this stage I'm not prepared to publish the exchange of emails between me and the host.

But long story short, when ordering a server and a backup server, do not assume the seller will treat the backup server as a backup. Ask explicitly for it to run on separate hardware (or node) of the server it's backing up. Otherwise when one dies they both die.

In the extremely unlikely event that it's a worst case scenario when they go offline, for the first time since purchase, with a HDD fail & RAID error corrupting partitions: you lose.

Keep up the good work chaps. Don't let the b'stards get you down.

Delighted to see the cc 'escalator' has gone. Its been a while since I buzzed around on a 50!
