Just a quick note to thank Steve S and Steven for organising last night. Hope those who braved the rain thought it worthwhile. If any of you are heading to the NEC in the next few days for Motorcycle Live say hi to Gary, he will either be on the Riders for Health stand or the BMW Off Road Skills stand.

I mentioned the Ross Noble video from Zambia last night here's a link http://www.riders.org/news-blog/news/ro ... the-rescue

Cheers.

Thanks Paul & Gary, it sounded like a great talk, sorry I missed it due to having to work away.

Hi

Sorry for the delay, said I'd post details of the tracking device fitted to my bike

Tracker:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321481371580

twin usb 5v power supply, you can use one of the slots to charge your phone and the other for the tracker:

I'd got for a pay as you go sim card from giffgaff, worked well for me

Alarm: also available on ebay, it's very small and drains very little. They have a workshop in Wimbledon and really helpfull

As far as tracker installation is concerned... i'd recommend you don't place it such that it's covered by lots of metal as this will reduce gps signal strength. I did try to wire it up so it only charged when the ignition was on, but found it would run flat, so best to wire it to a permanent 12v, I've had no problems with flat batteries but I also ride it almost every day.

Hope this helps...it certainly got my bike back for me...
