New old person

Postby Tim68 » Mon Oct 31, 2016 9:50 pm

Hi all

Just joined the forum as am looking into doing some off road stuff with my son, who has recently passed his CBT. Nothing too serious, just for fun and experience. Might help to stop me falling off the road bike ;)

Not got bikes yet, but looking at 4 strokes, maybe a 250 for me. Seen a few comments on here about what to get, so will keep looking for the right ones.

Will try to get along to a club meeting as Ripley isn't far from me, but think I'll be away for November one.

Welcome Tim. When you've sorted your bikes look out for an easy ride or request a run leader.

You don't say what age bike you're looking for but the modern 250s are awesome. I've ridden a few and they are all anyone would need unless you're going desert racing.

Good luck.

Hello and welcome, my lad used a XR125 with just a few mods, it's amazing how much fun you can have with just 11bhp. 8-)
Off the beaten track!.

Hi Andrew

Yes thought a 250 would be about right, not too worried on age but have about £2k to spend. Although seen a 2013 bike for about £2.5k. Will keep looking. Will look to join a ride in due course.

Stewie - have tried an XR and liked it just need to find the right one for him. I'm a bit of a Honda fan. Had a few cbr road bikes and currently have a fireblade.

Cheers
