LDT events

Postby Jonski » Sat Jan 09, 2016 9:02 am

Hi everyone,

I did the Witley LDT last year and really enjoyed it. Can anyone tell me about other LDTs that are not miles away that are worth doing?

Thanks!

Hi Jonathan,
If you have only done the Witley so far, I would suggest from Kevin's list doing the Braintree, Nomads Three Stage, RRND and these will get you ready for the more challenging Swindonian. IMO unless you are a competent trials rider starting your LDT career off with the Wyegate, March Hare or the Sphinx will put you off. These have very difficult sections and if it wets there twice as hard.
Have you decided on a bike ?

Jon,

They are all worth doing but Derek is correct, if you are a novice at LDT's then start with the ones he has noted and then move on to the others. Be careful though they are quite addictive!

Hi Kev,

Early I know, but any news on the Nomads 3 stage? Do they have land for this year, now Bagshot is off limits?

Derek,

Not early. We have been quite busy on this, date is fixed, Sunday 17 April, and a verbal commitment from Landmarc on the venue which is Frith Hill Deepcut.

This site is just down the road from Bagshot and is very similar but much less well used. I rode a trial there yesterday and it's a great site, nice wooded heathland with lots of single track and plenty of options on the sections.

The paper work will go in over the next week or so and I will start pestering the life out of club members once we have written approval from Landmarc. We really need as many riders, marshal's and observers as we can get.

I should have some more details at club night.

Cheers

Thanks Kev and Derek, really useful, I will get these events in the diary now. I think I will still be on the trusty Serow!
