Hi, I am taking part as well and in exactly the same position.
Absolutely bricking it in the Sportsman's class.
Look out for KTM 450EXC with an idiot on top of it (for at least the first 30 seconds)!

Lols. At least we’ll be in the same boat. I’ve been told to just tour round and I expect my total lack of fitness to come into play during the first lap anyway. Have you got your mat and fire extinguisher?
Text me on 07387 257543 when you’re there.

yes, I was a little surprised about the fire extinguisher! Had to buy a new helmet this weekend with the gold sticker as well.

tbh the fire extinguisher isnt really necessary as there is always loads in the pits you could rely on

Top tips!? Just take it steady and enjoy it!! I tend to load up on the carbs before so I don’t run out of energy and have some cycling gel packs to have through the race in case I’m starting to feel knackered. I also put an energy drink in my hydration pack instead of water.

The biggest tip I can give is start SLOW.
Ride very carefully on the first lap and build speed thru the race.
It’s not a long lap without anything too technical.
The aim (the highest award or accolade) would be to finish the race. That’s all. Just finish. Many won’t.
If you give up you’ll be SO annoyed with yourself the day after.
I’ll be there.
I’ll finish.
I won’t win but a finish is a win in my book.

Biggest tip is to listen in to what the man says ... he has been there and done IT !

Riding number 82. Come say hello with any questions.
Get there as early as you can as parking can be an issue. Meaning if you’re not early it’s a long way to to start with pit kit and to push your bike.
