Dual Use Tyres

Postby Obligedkarma » Tue Dec 20, 2016 9:02 pm

Hi All,

This is probably a topic that has been discussed time and again however..... I will ask again.

I'm looking for a good dual use tyre for both on & off road due to my nearest trails being a 40 min drive away. I don't want a tyre that will be shredded with this much road use. I have been looking at the Pirelli MT21 Rear, about £70 online + Fitting.

Is there any others that anybody could recommend??

Thanks

Mt21 is a good tyre. You should see a few 1000 miles from it. Not the best grip on the dirt but as good as any other dual use tyre

If it's less than a 130 rear, get K60 rear and MT21 front, good combo, and galactic miles.

Thanks for the response guys,

I have looked for the d606 and I can seem to find in the uk, if I type it in Google then a lot of what comes up is a trailmax tyre, I am wondering if this is the latest replacement from Dunlop?! On dunlop's website they also don't do in a 140/40 18, this is off a KTM EXC 450 '08

If the MT21 will give a few thousand miles then this may be the one. I can't see it getting more than 1000 miles per year on it at the moment

If you can get them, Golden Tyre do some good 30/70 and 20/80's, or the Mitas C02 rear and C19 front, bit of a Marmite tyre the C02, I love them, ridden all over on them, but take a while to scrub in, on a 450 they will out last the bike
