hawkley 26 gone, possibly never to re- open. one of my favourites. pity. did anyone know in advance?

I've recently taken on the Group Rules of the Road conservation role from John Toogood. Yesterday I received notification from Hants CC about the Hawkley temporary closure, they're saying it's temp. I fully intend to find our what's going on.

According to James (Cohen), it is a temporary closure owing to a bridge problem, this seems entirely reasonable to me.

not sure on that- From my recollection, it goes across a field, through a gate then up a rutted short track--- also the 21 days is to be followed immediately by a 6 month closure , due to 'likelihood of danger to the public'. Not sure why it would take a closure of 6 months to do a small repair. but we wait and see! bc
