Feck me how much time do you want to invest in this debate.
Sounds like you have had much advice both from manufacturer and end user.
Make your own decision and live with it.
Last thing I will say on it is, real world experience is worth far more than Jaso ratings and the all the rest of it.

I use cooking oil with blue dye and get a lovely smell as I ride :lol:

A lot of peeps are raving about it
Cheap as chips at £64 for 20ltrs

Although it will be interesting to see what the wear is like on the inside of his motor.

to be fair his bike was on its last legs when he got it.

I think the only way of telling if the oil you buy branded or otherwise ,you keep the bike for a year and are running it at fairly high revs ie racing speeds and when you personally strip it down to replace the rings or piston and there is a film of oil covering these parts then you know the oil is ok ,when I had a 2 smoke I mixed 120 mls of oil to 5 litre petrol but I hear some people are using less than 120 now.
