Seat "carving"

Postby Ewormaharg » Mon Jun 16, 2014 10:01 am

I need to lower my XR400 a couple of inches and don't really want to mess around with the suspension.

Can anyone recommend the services of a seat "carver" or where I might be able to buy a lower seat? Would softer foam work I wonder?

Any suggestions (other than platform soles or carrying a stool) would be appreciated.

Cheers

Give Glenn Moger a call on 07769 977906 and find out his availability.
He normally does high end stuff but he did my TTR seat after it had previously been cut down (bodged) and covered in burgundy 70's sofa vinal! He did a great job of salvaging the foam and covering. Based down near Southampton.

£50 I think and I got a friend to drop it off and pick it up. As I said, he generally does high end stuff and you wouldn't believe what some Harley owners will pay for a top class custom seat!

Anyone know where I can get some Burgandy 70`s sofa vinyl for the seat on my KTM, apparently its coming back into fashion and was lusted after at Romaniacs and Erzberg.

None on Ebay, I guess all the interest in it has sent prices and demand sky rocketing. Maybe time to befriend someone with a 70's sofa... just slice a bit off the back and they'll never know... ☺

Very good guy used him plenty of times

He managed to curve a seat for the misses bike and re use existing cover and did this whilst she waited
Just had to book in so to speak
