Speedo on a WR250F

Postby martywashere1970 » Sun Jan 27, 2013 7:36 pm

Hi, I have a 2003 WR250f and it has the OEM odometer fitted but no speedo. I want to fit a speedo for road riding to the trails etc. I'm not sure exactly what the options are but the trail tech range look okay. Has anyone fitted a Trail Tech or have view of what the best option would be (without spending a fortune).

Cheers

Think the trail tech vapour was always a popular choice.

I have a Trailtech Vapor on my Husky 250 and my friend has a Trailtech Vector on his WRF 250. Both happy (except for the fact that you cant touch the bikes without the damn things waking up!)

Had a trailtech vapour. After about a year, the screen misted up every ride. Finally gave out about a month ago.

Now going to give an Acewell a go. I'll let you know how it goes.......

Hi Marty,

The electronic speedo on my Husky died after a recent diving incident

Ended up buying one of these and splicing it into the original wiring from the OEM pick up. Was a piece of cake

I really only wanted it to keep an eye on servicing intervals, but its got loads of useful features including a temp gauge, clock, service interval, total distance, trip distance, lap timers etc.
Only slight negative is for a 21" front wheel it will only operate in KM, but thats not a biggy IMHO.

BTW Good to meet you today.

Thanks chaps.
Gav I'll follow your lead and save myself £40. If I get stuck doing the installation I may get in touch for a few tips.
