Ah ok! Thanks so much! I have been wanting to do this but never heard of anyone else doing it!
I will spray muc off over it all then jet wash. So I can get right in the bike and around wires and engine etc and all should be ok?

I use gt85 also :)

All will become clearer when you can actually see what colour the wires are.......................

The only earth i can see on the wiring diagram is the one on the battery, but my old eyes ain`t that good.If you have a look its gonna make more sense to you cos you know what colour wires you have.My money is still on a corroded connector block.

But the earth wire from the battery must ground somewhere...but I can't find it!
Since the good jet wash the light seems to be better?
I gt85 in all the plugs I could see and sprayed over all wires with it too.

Don`t really understand what you mean, it just earths onto the frame.Did you open up all the connectors and clean them with a toothbrush and gt85,all the block connectors and the single ones. What are the colour wires that are disconnected. When you say the light seems better do you mean its fixed ?

Mmmm. On the DRZ I assumed that the rear light cluster (the metal bit inside) was attached directly to the subframe, which is its earth? So there would only be a single wire for the rear light and one for the brake light.........

There again, not sure if this is true for the E variant.......

Keep cleaning the joints!

Doesn`t look like original rear light.

Just follow it from the negative connection on the battery to where it ends, but that must be ok because the rest of the bike is ok. Have you had a look at the wiring diagram. It will make more sense to you because you have the bike there and know the relevant colours of wires. My money is still on corrosion in a connection block.

I have cleaned the connection block and gt85 it, for the life if me I can't find the earth! I follow the wire but can't see where it goes and I also looked at wiring diagrams.
