We are looking for volunteers to join the Green Road Guardian scheme. We currently have 16 members looking after 11 groups of lanes and are seeking some help for the lanes around Shere and Albury. You will be supporting James Crawford who is seeking one or two people to help spread the load. It's not difficult or onerous but enables you to get more involved with the club, and get to know your local lanes very much better.
No requirement to travel during Lockdown but if you live locally and can walk or cycle a few lanes - so much the better !!
More generally the Green Road Guardian role involves -
Inspect the ‘Byway’ fingerpost sign at each end of the lanes
Clear away any encroaching vegetation to enable clear visibility (hand tools only please - no power tools under any circumstances)
Take photo’s and upload to the Trello Board
Report any missing or broken posts to Surrey CC ( we will find the correct link and put it on Trello)
Report any fly-tipping (we’ll put the link on Trello)
Re-fix any broken or missing Surrey trf signs and fix new QR code signs (when issued)
Report through the Trello Board Notes any issues or if any lane clearance is required (you are not expected to do that alone !! we’ll get a group together )
Engage with other Byway users and hand out the leaflets that are presently being drafted
If you think you can help James with this, please message me
