Butser lane clearing Saturday March 2nd

Postby NigelC » Fri Feb 01, 2019 9:11 am

All,

We are coordinating with Hants CC and Hants TRF to do some lane clearing near Butser, probably Limekiln Lane and maybe another.

Meet at the Butser car park at 10 am...

https://binged.it/2ML8yZq

We'll go on to 3pm but if you can't do the whole time that's fine; come for as much as you can.

Bring usual gardening stuff including gloves - hand tools only though! I found long handled shears very useful last time.

We were very fortunate to have the offer of hot food and drink from one of the Loddon vale TRF last time, including a Gazebo for shelter. I'm afraid I don't have those kind of facilities (I've got a small camping gas stove that might just about boil a kettle!) but if anyone has, and is willing to bring it down, that would be fantastic. Otherwise, its sandwiches and thermos flasks :)

Cheers

Any one else putting their name down for this?

TRF members will be joined by members of the “Hampshire Off-road” FB Group and this will be a chance to build bridges with other trail riders and promote the positive work of the TRF.

Thanks

Steven

I should be coming along.

I believe that we can now use a certain level of power tools, but NOT chainsaws (Chairman at last Loddon Vale meeting)?

Barry that’s great you can get along

Wasn’t aware of the position on power tools, will try to confirm before the day.

Many thanks to every one who came, including Richard, Gary and Peter from the TRF and Steven, John, Alan and Anita plus several others from Hampshire Off Road (apologies I didn't get everyone's name).

Many thanks to Adam from HantsCC for marshaling us all and taking us to the area that needed attention, not to mention the tea and biscuits!

We probably cleared back around 1/4 of a mile or so really thoroughly. Unfortunately, some dimwit forgot his phone  so I'm dependent on every one else for Photos - I know Adam has some and will post/email in due course.

Cheers all
