Re: East Meon and Langrish update

This is both of the lanes up Butser hill, but only until the end of September,or when the work is completed. It will be interesting to see what they do,if anything, with the exposed roots at the top. There is still one more lane available up the hill which is a bit further along Oxenbourne lane. I us...

Re: Current List of BOATS, as at Aug 2018

Brian, Thanks for this. Lots of lanes marked as TRO including Gibbets hill (503 High Button), that's new! I haven't been able to find an equivalent listing for Hampshire. They do have a web site listing temporary closures and an interactive map (Colour coded to show closed lanes) but I don't think t...

Re: Run Leaders

All,

My offer still stands for those who would like gpx files for the routes that I have mapped out from Hindhead or Tilford. Just send me a pm with your email or any questions that you may have about the routes.

Peter.

Syd, We have a new post for navigation: https://forum.surreytrf.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=2941 In regards to maps and routes, there are marked up O/S maps available at the club night, both Surrey and Hampshire publish on-line maps with the BOATS marked. The Hampshire map is even updated with t...

Re: Navigation

I tried the map holder for O/S maps for the Witley 100 LDT and have some older Road books from Mudevee. Maps are good for the "bigger picture" view but I find them a faff so have converted all my routes to Viewaranger. I even converted the Witley 100 (2017) and the "Longest day" ...

Re: Run Leaders

I agree a separate thread for specifics such as Sat Nav and related thoughts. (Maybe large font for this one  ). There was a thread some time ago with a very good presentation: GPS Navigation in 10 easy steps: https://forum.surreytrf.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=2107 Mike. I use an android...

Re: Run Leaders

Steve (Billy) and all. Although I have only been with the TRF a couple of years I have realised that it does take a while (many hours in the saddle) to get familiar enough with the lanes in order to build a few routes that can be offered to a group as a run leader. This often requires that you have ...

Re: Hogden lane

Gary,

I assume that you cut through it and cleared it using all the power tools that you carry with you!
