2002 300exc Clutch

Postby willie » Mon Feb 08, 2016 8:17 pm

Hi all.

The clutch on my KTM is really stiff. Using the bike for a day destroys my hand.

Can someone recommend what I should do and how to go about sorting it out.

Hello, hope the hands have recovered now?

Fluid change may help but its probably that the basket and possibly the hub are notched making it difficult for the plates to slide. You could strip and file the basket flat which will help but will leave you with a bit of free play, not the end of the world.

Or give it to Luke B, put pound notes in his hand, wait for him to phone you to come pick it up, problem will be solved :-)

Hands are ok now.
Iv got three days off work next week so will have time to tinker and do the fluid.
But I have a feeling you may have another job shortly Luke. Lol

and you will wait 6 weeks for the thing, then when it shows up it's defective and impossible to bleed properly. Ask me.. I know.

Plus is looks like a special needs clutch.
