Potential newbie

Postby katem » Thu Sep 03, 2015 11:38 pm

Hi, I'm wondering how active the big bike owners tend to be over the winter? I'm thinking of trying to get on one of the last BMW school weekends of the season, but only if there's a good chance I'll use the skills over the winter, otherwise I'll probably wait until the spring. I'm a possible newbie to TRF, have done some off roading but not on my big bike, so would be looking for some rides that are appropriate for someone just getting into this.
Many thanks
Kate

Many of us are more active in the winter than the summer.

In the summer (have we had it yet ?) the lanes are often overgrown or dusty and generally busier with walkers and push bikes.

Well that was a perfect response :) Thank you. I'll be heading down for the Tuesday meet later this month and look forward to meeting people.

Currently have a Tiger 800xc, but by I'm now looking at either a BMW f700 or 800GS. I've just booked the BMW level 1 for the 4/5 oct! That weekend sounds interesting, I might be able to do some of it :)

I'm getting some spoked wheels for my 1200gs so I think I'll be able to do a few big bike rides going forward.
