Recent server issues

Hi all,

Since moving from Rackspace hosting to Amazon Web Services we've had a lot of hiccups and I'm sorry for that. The support from Amazon has been less than helpful so we may be moving again. I'll be migrating to a different service and if we still have issues then I will take us back to Rackspace or similar provider.

For such a small group we do have it quite good. We have a non-standard PHP board with mods and frequent emails go out for digests. I hope to return this back to stability soon.

That's fine Steve. It's not really a hard job. The main issue I've had recently is the server is virtualised and when it falls over there is nothing in the logs to tell me why. I've been chatting with Amazon as I believe they've put us on a server that's too busy but they don't care for small-fry like us.

If the tweaks I'm making now dont fix this long term we will look at other hosting options. Again I'm sorry for any disruptions to the rides for you guys. My heart is still very much in this.

Thanks the group would not be what it is without the hard work you and others put in on a voluntary basis, hopefully your tweaking will help fix the issues.
