"Big Bike Run" (for ABR)

Postby big yellow tractor » Sun Nov 23, 2014 5:07 pm

Did a "Big Bike" run organised by Stewie yesterday.

What about this for a strange mix of bikes......
Honda Veradero 125
Triumph Tiger 800 "Adventure"
Kawasaki KLR 650
KTM 690 Rally
and me on the 200 stinkwheel.

As expected, Dave on his 690 had no problems at all but the surprises were the KLR and Tiger. Simon on the Tiger did have a little lie down a few times and I think Steve on the KLR got beached a few times but to be honest, they did way better than I expected.

I'm afraid that although Richard on the little Veradero did very well and kept up with the pace, his bike didn't fair so well. Before we got to the first lane, the insert fell out of his exhaust, then he lost most of his front brakes before his exhaust snapped at the collector.

Just a tad over 100 miles. We would have managed many more but we ran to Farnham Honda at lunchtime so Richard could pick up some front pads for his run back to East London. Then we had to cut the run short at about 1500 and limp back by road after his exhaust fractured.

Some pictures from Dave (my camera got a soaking and is buggered)
