Rykas to Haslemere 7 July 13

Postby Weet-rider » Mon Jul 08, 2013 5:57 pm

Big thanx to Steve Sharp yesterday for leading the excellent trip to Haslemere and back. It was a pleasure to slither, bounce and slide around trying to follow in your perfectly sure-footed tyre tracks!

Going over the sand was a first-time experience for me which felt like Paris-Dakar in my own head and certainly got the heat rate up.

We had a great group of friendly riders who looked out for each other but the medals must go to Ernst & Gonzalo for epic rides on their GS1200 & Varadero 125(?). Respect to you both!

Cheers, Steve for all your advice and patience making it a great day.

Many thanks to Steve Sharp too, for organizing and leading the ride. It was great fun and it’s so much easyer just to follow someone when trying to keep the big GS upright, especially in the sandpit. I have to do that again without the landing bit.
Thanks also to the rest of the group for being so welcoming and giving the big beast the odd push up hill when needed.
Hope to see you again soon.

Cheers
Ernst

Many thanks to Steve B too for leading the second group. We had a great day if a little hot and dusty.

Hi there, kick bum day indeed, thanks a lot to Steve.

On another, very side note, Ive taken the DRZ 400 to a garage and they confirmed theres a problem with the top engine and that it'd cost me a lot of money to fix it. My options are either to sbreak the bike and sell it or to buy a second hand engine.

Does anyone remember the name/ forum name of the guy in the red/orange top and white bike who wanted to sell me a big bore kit?, he mentioned he had an engine I think. Also, what would you do in my position?

Thanks a lot.

Alberto
