I have only just been made aware that planning permission is being sought to change the land around byway 521 in Ash Green. From the documentation from the developer it is clear they want to close the byway.
the deadline for objections is tomorrow, it would be good if we can get some objections in before the deadline.

Re: Threat to Byway 521 - North from Drover's Way
Thanks for drawing attention to this planning application: The supporting documentation indicates that the scheme is totally opposed by all relevant bodies, eg defra, natural england, the sang advisory body, the council, the parish council , the residents associations etc etc, and also there is no direct mention of closure of 521. The process to close a byway is totally separate process from a planning application, so we ought to be safe on this one but will keep a watch on it, just in case! In the event it somehow does get approval, the access would be via 518 which is currently closed to all vehicles, so we may in fact , in that event, get 518 re- opened, but it is very unlikely. bc
