There has been some correspondence on the club FaceBook page recently around whether or not it is OK to push motorcycles on the footpath over the bridge at Tilford . We have had some feedback from John Vanuffel and whilst the legal position is not entirely clear, it is clear that the TRO prohibits all motor vehicles :
prohibit motor vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Sheephatch Lane (D103), Tilford; b) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in (i) that that length of the north to south arm of Tilford Street (D104) which crosses Tilford Green (Registered Village Green No. 62) and (ii) which extends from its junction with the east to west arm of Tilford Street (D104) southwards for a distance of 50 metres;
The alternative route is a slight pain but in an attempt to maintain good relationships with the locals, the committee recommend that we do not push our bikes over the bridge but ride around instead.
Not sure when the bridge will reopen but when it does - it will not be a moment to soon !!
