Many of you will remember the Fullers Farm Road and Silkmore Lane TRO saga back in 2011. A local parish Councillor tried to get these byways open to all traffic closed, having previous failed in 1982, because she lived on one of the roads, and didn't like people driving past, especially as the road had been designed a Beatrix Potter conservation area.
We launched a big campaign and were successful in keeping the routes open, but having seen how the dark forces worked, we felt we had to try to do something about it. So we also set up a petition to improve the objectivity, impartiality and integrity of decision making on Rights of Way issues. Many of you signed the petition, which you can still view here:

Well, get this.
Its taken three years.... but in May the Planning and Regulatory Committee finally considered a Code of Best Practice drawn up by the very helpful and diligent Council Officers...

And the Code of Best Practice has been finalised and adopted!

A very symbolic victory! A hurrah for the Council Officers who saw this through and well done and thank you to everyone who signed the petition.
And to Sven, may you RIP, who posted this video on youtube during the campaign: http://www.youtube.com/watch?
Do you remember our petition? A long awaited VICTORY!

Sorry, what does this mean? Is the code of best practice., which has been adopted, in our favour? If it is, fan-fliiping-tastic! I'm so pleased! Especially after the nightmare which has been going on in Hampshire. I'd downloaded a copy and will hopefully have a free moment to read it
