AGM elections and awards - Tues 22 Jan 2019

Postby stevent » Sun Jan 06, 2019 5:20 pm

All

We will be holding the South London and Surrey TRF Group AGM on Tuesday 22 January. Please arrive by 8:30, meeting will start at 8:45pm

This has always been relatively informal - the agenda will include:
- Reports back from Officers including a Financial Report from the Treasurer
- Elections for Officer posts
- Any formal proposals or "motions"
- Awards for 2018
- Any other business
Close by 10:30pm.

Current officer posts and incumbents are as follows:
- Chair (currently myself, Steven Taylor)
- Group Representative (currently Tony Rowlands)
- Treasurer (currently Murray Labban)
- Rights of Road Officer 1 (currently Brian Cohen)
- Rights of Road Officer 2 (currently John Barber)
- New Member Officer (currently Nigel Cooper)
- Equestrian Officer (vacant)
- Secretary (currently Steve McCormick, not standing for re-election)

At the AGM all posts will be up for grabs and we will seek endorsement from the SL&S membership for all incumbent and new officers. There will be Officer posts where I am not aware that anyone is standing so if you are interest in getting involved there are opportunities to do so. We can also define posts for specific roles if you have a particular project or initiative you are interested in taking forward. The Group benefits tremendously from having a core group of officers working together. We meet quarterly and also exchange emails as issues arise. If there is anything you'd like to improve or 'fix' then now is your chance! Don't hesitate to get in touch if you are interested in getting involved and have any questions.

Posts with no-one currently indicating they'll stand...
- Secretary
- Events officer
- Equestrian
- Rights of Road Officer 3 and/or Green Road Guardian Project Officer

If there are any formal proposals or motions that any members wants to raise and discuss at the group please let me have notice by Friday 18 January and we'll ensure there is time allocated on the agenda.

Thanks

Steven

Dear All

Below is the informal formal agenda for our AGM... it will be great to see as many people as possible,

Most of those involved as officers are looking to continue and will be looking for your support at the AGM.
Simon Watson has stepped up to fill our Secretary role which Steven McCormick is stepping down from.
Simon will be sharing proposals for some big events in 2019 and will also need some support for all of us to make stuff happen!
Thanks go to Steven for all his work over the last years.

We will have our award ceremony (thank you for all those who made nominations)
Fellow judge Steve Sharp and I scrutinised all nominations last Monday... and the winners have chosen.
The certificates will hopefully be in FULL TRF COLOURS, provided I find the right printer cartridge tomorrow... otherwise they'll be black and white...
Lucky winners will be able to frame their certificate and hang it so that it takes pride of place over a fireplace, or in the shed
And most importantly on Saturday "the Sharpie" found its way back to me and is now ready to be awarded to this year's winner.
There were three members shortlisted...

AND if that isn't enough excitement, Simon will be issuing tickets for our Austin Vince talk next month. Be first to get your hands on a much sought after ticket!

Finally. It is not too late to put yourself forward to play a greater role in the Group.
YOUR GROUP NEEDS YOU.
We have nobody standing for a new third Rights of Road role - where someone could lead on Hampshire issues and/or injecting life into Green Road Guardians initiative.
Nor for an equestrian officer, which would involve building relationships with local horse riders, stables etc and possibly involvement in horse events.
The roles are really what you make of them.
If you have for things you would like to do in the year ahead please let us know and get involved.
The group is only as good as the efforts its members.

Look forward to seeing you on Tuesday
Steven

All,

Yet another informative and well organised AGM. Once again, it is the amazing effort and contribution from individuals that make this group an inspiration to me. 2018 was full of great opportunities to get involved in the fellowship and it looks like 2019 will be even better.

I am so grateful to have received the "Sharpie" and totally surprised that I was even considered. I can now replace that bloody awful picture of the cat on the fireplace mantel with the shiny "Sharpie" and will wear my sprocket with pride. (new Avatar)

Cheers,
Peter.

Oh and thanks to all my sponsors, my mum and dad, Bob at the corner shop, the cat.....blah, blah, blah

Guys!!! I feel like a complete nonce as didn’t know about the awards until Gary told me as hadn’t seen this part of the forum!! So am a bloody idiot!!!

Please accept my apologies as I would have loved to have been at the club meeting for this and would have voted!!

I am made up at getting the most enthusiastic new comer and will do my best to defend the title in 2019!!

Thanks again.

Christian
