Postby steve sharp » Mon Aug 19, 2013 6:00 pm

Hi,

Don't forget its club night on Tuesday 27th August at Ripley.

Derek will be giving a demo on how to set up your suspension, please arrive for 7-30 start as it gets dark earlier these days. Derek will be demonstrating the basic set ups for setting the sag, and front and rear rebound & damping. This will help you get the best from your bike.

Come down on the bike, it should still be nice and warm for a ride out into the countryside.
We will have our master maps for TRF members; and we welcome new, old and prospective members!
We are here to discuss routes, ride outs , answer any questions etc.
If its a warm evening we can continue the meeting outside with a cold beer, its all informal.

8-30 Arrive grab a beer. Derek's demo - suspension set up.
9-15 meet new members, mark up maps, informal chat.
9-30
Row - Bramley TRO - Steve S
-Bentworth TROs - Steven T
Future Runs - Simon
AOB
10-00 ish Formal bit finished, carry on map marking, new member chat, informal chat

Regards
Steve

Hi, Derek has spoken to the Legion and we can have the demo indoors, so we will be starting at 8-30.

See you all Tuesday

Not all that sure about taking a bike into the Legion. It is a clean tidy well looked after club who have made us very welcome, is this not abusing their hospitality.

I did go and check with them and they are fine with. I will make sure the floor is protected. Of course we won't be running the engine - just demo of the basic settings.

Toughen up princess!

Sorry muddeee just my opinion which counts to no one but me, but when we do the demo in your front room I will come and watch but I personally think taking a bike into the legion is not on. As I say, just my opinion.

Draining the fuel tank might be a wise move, but other than that I see no issues, bikes are generally sold from indoor premises with the public milling around.
Method statement, risk assessment, cosh, assessment , toolbox talk :?:  yea right.

We've had bikes in SDMCC clubhouse many times; lay some dust sheets down so you don't leave any muck and put a bit of ply under the stand so you don't dink the floor and I can't see there being any problem. I suppose you could have a couple of fire extinguishers handy just to show you have covered that risk but there isn't one really.

We had Patsy Quick's Dakar bike in a few years ago and it damaged the ceiling (she fired it up and the up-turned exhausts blew the tiles up through the grid)

Obviously just me then. Still can`t understand why anyone would think it ok to take a dirty, smelly dirt bike into a nice clean club. If you wanted a sh##hole that didn`t give a f##k we should have stayed at Nescott.
The time for this type of demonstration was summer and outside in the car park.

Steve, you're getting all posh again,
and I think Simon keeps his bike in his house sometimes?

So its 8:30 start then is it?
