Old-Timer, down but not out!! From Staines Under Thames.

Postby Bultacobob » Fri May 09, 2014 5:46 pm

Hi folks,
I have am just getting back into the saddle at 53. A fight with a Polish Lorry has put me out of commission since signing up but hope to start ridding again. I have just sold my XR400 as It was just to tall for me (Not touching the ground just getting my leg over it - no innuendo meant !) looking for something lighter. Hopefully a Gas Gas 300. At the moment I have a few Bultacos and Italjets and would like to know if there are any other twin-shock riders, maybe there could be an easy - Old bike run! Work commitments mean a weekdays only for me and I hope to join a Wednesday run. Just not sure how reliable the old Bultaco Alpina is and don't wont to be a pain on the run.
Anyhow would love to get out on the trail, and look forward to meeting other members.

Cheers

Rob

Yes - But as the saying goes it not the Age but the Mileage that counts and I have been round the clock a few times!! I am a young at heart motorcycle enthusiast, I reckon it's riding around on old bikes that aches the bones, maybe a younger bike will help.

Bad news buddy, a younger bike will bite your bum/spit you of the same as an old one but at higher speeds....................

I got an old road registered TY175 twinshock, though weekdays are difficult for me - however with the longer days approaching a 6pm to 9pm rie on local lanes is quite feasible.
If you get along to the next clubnight, lets have achat about it.
