Should be able to help out Saturday and hopefully enter on Sunday. These 3 stage Trials are a brilliant introduction to any form of competitive riding but without being too serious, basically a good fun day out. Too many of these smaller events are dying out through lack of support and are perfect events for us trail riders so lets see a good show of Surrey TRFers there.

Looks like a good event, the various posts have sold it to me. Will get the necessary licences as advised and sign up for the Sunday. Might be able to help out Saturday but won't know until closer to the time.

Forms sent off today :-)

I have a question- it says you need numbers and a boards on front and sides - when do you get numbers and are the standard boards above the headlight and on the sides of the bike ok or do you need anything special?

Had a look on 1stmx and they do yellow backgrounds for my bike - is this ok or do I need white? Do I need to swap the front light for a number board?

This is all assuming I get one of the 100 places of course!

Yes you do need numbers but don't go overboard on them.

Last year I just printed them onto some white card, with the numbers being about 4" tall, taped one over the front headlight and one to the back of my helmet, that was fine. If the observers miss your number you can usually shout it out to them!

This event is all about having fun really so don't take it too seriously.

Kev,

Is this event still on?

Heard the ground was closed for 2 years and not received anything back from my application yet.

Are they looking for new ground to run it?

I spoke with the organisers a few days ago and it is still on the land is closed for enduro but not for trials. I have my entry back, as do others, I am sure yours will turn up in a few days.

Hi Kev,

As mentioned at club night this evening, I will sign on for the 3 stage trial. BUT, it is a mission.....................

You need to go to the Aldermaston site, find the New Year page, open the regs (which is the entry form), print it, fill it in and post it away................

With 3 stamped addressed envelopes and a cheque!

Just dug out my cheque book. The last 2 cheques I wrote were both to Aldermaston (2012 & 2013). The last time I used a stamp was for the same thing. I do not have any envelopes!

I'll crack on and get the entry in - but 'quaint' and 'dated' may be the reason people do not support the event as well as previously. Do the ACU not offer sign on for ACU club events, along with online payment etc etc?

I really do support and endorse the event - but it needs to move on a little as well :)

Cheers matey!
Derek

For other (younger) TRF members who wish to sign on, I'm happy to show you what a stamp & an envelope are (and sell you the same)!

Derek,

Agreed it is a nightmare to register, but worth it.

One step at a time, help with the recruitment and organisation this year, get it digital next year!

Cheers
Kev

Ps: trouble finding entry form? Email me and will send you a copy.
