Witley 100 2016 - a chance to help out....
As most of you will know, the 2016 Witley 100 is being held on Sunday 23rd October. Entry is available on the ACU and Witley MCC web sites.
In order to hold such an event (180 riders), there is plenty of preparation and organisation before and during the event. Surrey TRF members have often helped out over the last few years. Here is an opportunity to help out this year..........
Firstly, each Byway that is ridden on the route needs to be 'noticed'. This entails riding the route and putting notices on each end of each Byway. This task is being carried out on either Thursday 13th or Friday 14th October (tbc nearer the time when weather reports are in)! If you are able to help out, by riding the roadbook and pinning up notices, please let me know. There will be a small group, so you won't be riding alone.
Secondly, on the day, each 'section' needs to be laid out and 'observed'. We are looking for half a dozen volunteers to help out from the TRF this year.
If you would like to help out with either of these little tasks, please let me know by PM, email [email protected] or text 07711 433 545.
As always, your help is greatly appreciated!

Helping put notices up on Byways............
Those that offered to assist with this - The organiser (Roger Brown - [email protected]) has indicated that he'll be out riding and putting notices up on FRIDAY 14th Oct 2016.
If you are able to help, please do 2 things!
1. email Roger on the email shown above, with your name etc letting him know that you'll be there.
2. Be there! Meet in the farm yard at Down Farm Odiham at 9am for a 9.30 start
I'll be away, so won't be able to join you. Enjoy the riding!

Just finished an excellent days riding taking part in the Witley 100. Great route, sections nicely set up for trail and Enduro bikes and a special test of flat out riding in a private field. Really well organised event and I want to thank everybody involved in setting it up.
A special thank you to a few of the Surrey TRF chaps who gave up the opportunity to ride and instead, stood all day in the cold to observe at the sections. So thanks to Derek Muddevee, Dave Strongbow, Kirk, Graham Gdas and I'm sure there was somebody else but try as I might I can't bring myself to thank him!
Cheers Guys

Yes a great day out, eighty seven miles, a special test, ten trials sections, two punctures and a couple of crashes in our group, thankfully not all from me!
Good to see a nice turn out of entrants from Surrey TRf and of course a big thanks to all the observers who gave up their sunday to make this event happen, cheers guys.

Yes, truly a great day.
My first LDT and what did I learn:
Can't read a roadbook, can't do trials and never follow someone else who is lost!
Sign me up for the next one.
Peter.

We should have been more organised, saw Shaun,Simon,Tony,Chopper and Kev at the start, but only saw Chopper (always gonna be a 5 from me), Kev (a clean cos he moved his van to let us park) and Gav on route.I was on 7, Kirk on 8, Muddeee on 9 and Strongbow on 10.For any Surrey TRF`ers beer tokens would have seen you `clean`................

Witley 100 2016 - a chance to help out....
I was keeping a low profile going round. The new bike is very different to the old. Pressed all the wrong buttons and none in right order. Thanks everyone it was great to see so many of you at the special stages and taking part supporting an excellent event. Need more things like this in Surrey

What a brilliant day's riding!
Thanks to all of the regular LDT riders who encouraged me to give this a go. Also Steve, Kirk, Derek, Dave etc for volunteering to be observers, great to see our group represented in an official capacity.
I thoroughly enjoyed the day and won't hesitate to put my name down again next year.
Tony.
