I, and i suspect several others will be entering this again this year.
IMHO it is one of the best enduro's that is held in the UK. It is achievable for nearly all capabilities, although new comers should be cautious.
The lap is about 20 miles with several extreme sections, these can be avoided and are meant for the more experienced riders, the alternative is just a slightly longer.
6 12 and 24 hour races you can enter in teams of up to 3.

I'm in. 12 or 24 hours. Even if I die.

If Hobbsy is doing 24hr , I am going to do my best to get included in his, will.lol
Dave, you thinking team or solo ? me and Drew will be doing 12hr solo.
Steve, Joking aside, and I know that will be difficult for you , if you want to come and Marshall i can arrange that for you but it would be good if you enter.

Well it depends what ppl want to do. I'd love to do the full 24 hours in a team as a first option. But I'm also keen for a 12 hour solo to see if I can do it. My problem is I forget not to race.
Hopefully Grant (G-Bru) will want to do one of them too.

I could possibly be talked into being the weakest link in a 3 man 24 hour team............................

I've thought about the 24 hr but decided its not for me, by the time morning comes you will want to die
and then the lap length increases by about 13 miles for the next 12 hrs. I ride to have fun and not sure the 24 would be.
Not to mention the huge outlay on lighting set up .
My advice is 12 hr 2 man team, that way you don't wait so long for your next lap.

Hmm yeah I agree. Is probably a bit daft to go straight for the Le Mans experience as a first time to this event!

dave ..12hr solo well .. I would suggest you try a 5hr iron man ..... there is a 5hr hare n hounds at portsmouth if you want to experience 12hour solo
http://www.enduronews.com/clubs/portsmouth12.htm
it happened a few weeks back tho so would have to be next year.
I did it one year on the drz ... now that was hard work ! The following year was on the ktm 300 but had to stop at 3.5hours in as poor stu had a big off and had to go to hospital !!

Re: Dawn to Dusk 2013 August bank holiday
Yeah not surprised Kris, unlucky for him. Grant and I rode that enduro practise a few weeks back for around 5 hours, just before iron man. That track was absolute shite, no way would I want to ride it for 12'hours. I made the most of it by going off and trying the obstacles. Hardest one was the cut up stumps and logs by far.
The one in High Wycombe (Lane End) was much better and much more fun tho. Could've done that all day long. Really feeling the WR400f in its element, even if it does have decade old technology in it and is a bit heavy; it was a pleasure to ride.
But yeah what ever if anyone wants teams to go for a result instead, I'm game
