trials / trail bike rack, heavy duty, free to collect

Postby silvergull » Sun Feb 14, 2016 9:33 pm

Bike rack , heavy duty, handmade by one of our own!

Free: bike rack, heavy duty, one piece, will take trials bikes, and heavier trail bikes too. has adjustable central height plate to stabilize bike, and prevent suspension dive. A truly well engineered piece of kit, a one- off, with lateral stabilzing bracket, and one or two other refinements, made by one of our very own club members, in really good condition, having had little use. To collect from Guildford. ( its so good, after writing this I might change my mind!)

Minor garage clearout, Thanks, I can post photos, if needed. But a rack is a rack, after all, and its free! .Thanks, Cheers bc

thanks: both racks bolt onto the plate of the tow bar. you can leave the central attachment potion fixed permanently, in the case of the lighter Dsve Copper rack, and still use the tow ball as well. the side pieces then slot in, as needed. for the heavier duty one piece rack, it it less suitable to leave in place all the time, as it does not come apart, but also bolts onto the flat plate on a tow bar.
The tow bracket needs to be for both racks of the more conventional pattern, ie a plate, and the various attachments bolt then on. you can also fit either of these to the adjustsble height backplates, eg witter, or dixon bate, amd probably others. will post photos of both soon. cheers bc

Yes it does clip off with a central plate remaining. I had a Dave cooper rack before. the description above is highly accurate. You can't carry an Enduro on a trials frame though Dave it's not strong enough.

Sorry I assumed KTM kid meant the clip off towbar like on the Range Rover where there is no plate , the towbar slots into a hole.

The detachable Swan Neck tow bar can be easily converted to take a conventional ball mount towbar fixing (with the 2 bolts). I use one with a Dave Cooper rack and stick my Pampera on it without any issues.

hi, yes its a rack, not a trailer, fits on to a towbar like dave cooper rack, but not dave cooper. pm me to get address and arrange a time to collect. it is located at my place in guildford. no problem, hope its what you need. it is a well made good piece of kit, only I no longer have a need for it. cheers bc if you pm me,and make sure I get your e mail address, I will send you a photo or two, I do not know not to insert photos onto this forum. collection during normal working days only, not weekends or eves.
