Dirt bike for an 8 year old

Looking for a bike for my son to learn to ride on.
Not too sure what I should be looking for....

Any suggestions welcome.

My best advice would be to buy him a trials bike and get down to Hookwoods. They are really pushing their youth training programme at the moment and are very active. It's a great way to learn and get a really good grounding in off road skills.

Kev, I would prefer him to ride Trials, but he's seen the mini MX type bikes PW80 CRF70 etc.
Will try to get him to Hook Woods, when's the best time/ day to have a look.

I told you those trials chaps were a friendly bunch!

Hope it goes well and you convert him. Wont be there myself as riding the Jubilee LDT with a few other Surrey TRFers.

I must agree with you there, I've noticed a lot of the big boys are riding 300 2 strokes, but I've also noticed some big girls riding 200 2 strokes.
Remind me again Billy, what do you ride.....
