Piste off.

Postby fallenmikethebike » Mon Jun 16, 2014 6:55 pm

Hi all, I did a lap of East Surrey the other weekend and was dismayed and shocked at the current amount of "Off Piste " activity being engaged in by a small rogue element using 4x4's.
This sort of practise does no one any good, and we all end up getting tarred with the same brush, and knee jerk reaction from the usual suspects" of ban the &loody lot of em".
I saw no evidence of one wheel drive incursion in to off road areas which is good.
It is my understanding that these rogue 4x4 ers in question have disengaged themselves from the normal etiquettes of Byway use because they feel greatly aggrieved that engagement with the authorities has let them down, and they have little left to lose. This however does not give them the right to wreck the current hard fought for good relationship that has been established with the rights of way department, pioneered by the TRF.
For my part I would not hesitate to report any vehicle I saw behaving in this manner, and would urge others to do likewise, but it's your personal call.
All views expressed entirely my own.
Mike
