4 wheeled vehicle TRO on Hook Street until 1/11/14 due to the significant earthworks and surfacing that is being carried out at the moment.
So far most of the work is focused on the part where it crosses the bridleway and runs past the large pond. This section was the best/worst bit to ride depending on your viewpoint due to the thick mud and massive ruts - all gone now and replaced with very flat tarmac all the way to the turnaround at the end of the byway. They have put hardcore down further up the lane so the plan may be to extend the tarmac all the way back to the gate.

Re: Hook Street * UPDATE *
Rode along Hook Street again today and found that the earthworks are continuing from the newly surfaced section Northward towards the gate where the stream is.
Culverts have been built at the side of the lane and what was left of the deeply rutted section has been levelled and the ruts filled in leaving a surface of smooth, sticky, orange clay looking to be in preparation for continuing to lay a hard surface along this section also. If this is the case then this lane would end up being be of little interest for riding sadly, more so with it being a dead-end.
