Stop the presses - News out......TRF Executive tables motion to ban orange bikes. Orange is seen as an aggressive colour, not in keeping wih the stated aims of the TRF.

Omg I better get rid of my red one then! That's even more aggressive. And blue ones are just cold.

Re: Code of conduct- aggressive tyres
I have actually noticed a few new non TRF groups appearing not too far from us, perhaps ex TRF members getting fed up with petty rules and ridiculous guidelines. Hope that is not the case as the Surrey TRF is a strong and growing group.

Thanks guys for the ammunition
I agree with virtually everything I've read.
Hadn't thought if the point about if we one of us was being prosecuted.
Will try to kill it tomorrow.

This is a good point. It's a bit like our previous discussions about newbies.
Everyone has a right to choose. But obviously a lot of people may not want to become or continue with their membership after they've learned how to read a map or have learned some routes. As Billy rightly says they don't feel this is for them. Weird when you consider its to protect what they enjoy.
The TRF needs to support the riders and become something people want to be a part of, not support the anti's.
The amazing social events we do by the way (thank you) are incredible!

Unfortunately I think this has always happened, so we need to try to keep these people. A lot of varied runs and things to do will hopefully help to keep them in the fold.Everyone has a right to choose. But obviously a lot of people may not want to become or continue with their membership after they've learned how to read a map or have learned some routes.

Re: Code of conduct- aggressive tyres
The new bit on tyres proposed at the meeting today, had been edited from what was circulated, and was a lot more sensible, something about use tyres appropriate to the surface.
I'm not sure how they ended up circulated what they did, whether it was deliberate ploy to get people to attend, or whether it just hadn't had enough eyes and input on it.
Anyway I was really impressed with the dedication and energy and ideas that the Directors brought to the meeting today, will share more detail soon.

Well it worked -- apparently there were more there than the previous two AGMs put together.
