Face book page - TRF Surrey

Hi,

We set up a face book page, when we were trying to reach lots of riders when we were fighting the TROs. I think we need a decent presence on it, if people could start advertising the Forum for runs and news etc or people will not know that we mainly use the Forum. I am rubbish with Facebook, so if anyone with knowledge can put a permanent banner to the Forum with explanation that would also be good.

I have one idea of something clever we could do. Might be able to mash together a Facebook app and link it to the forum.

The purpose could be that any new posts to the Rides & Meets section gets posted on Facebook automagically.

Also this generated Facebook post would link to the forum so the people of Facebook need to apply on the forum, increasing forum presence.

I understand there might be some faces of horror at the thought of this but on the flip side it could be useful as it keeps regular advertising reach to Facebook and means no one would need to manually update Facebook every time.

maybe put the profanity filter on it .. and remove any reference to the word horse/bobble etc etc !

Any update on this? There are frequent posts on the Facebook page by users (members and nonmembers) that never reach the forum. Would be good to encourage more cross over and get all those riders who are advertising rides on our Facebook page to join up.
