Curious............
Noticed on our Lee Walters training weekend that most of the names are experienced riders. If the experienced riders can see the benefit of training why can`t the less experienced riders ? If you let us know your thoughts/ideas on this we can tailor future events for the majority of the members otherwise we are working in the dark. Is it the distance, do you think you are not good enough, perhaps you have no transport, would really like to know. Thoughts please......................

Re: Curious............
Hi, I would definitely have come but other commitments stopped me. Having spent a previous weekend at Baskerville Hall with Lee I can confirm it was well worth it. Built my confidence and had me tackling obstacles I wouldn't have thought possible, particularly on my old and heavy DRZ.

Re: Curious............
Hi Steve,
As one of the less experienced riders I know I would benefit from the training (although I did do our training day with Strongbow and Stubble Shovel and they would be a hard act to follow) and really wanted to come. Unfortunately the date chosen is in the half term week and my wife, a teacher, will be off work and has decided we will be away that weekend. I have tried for a pass but having spent 2 weeks in Florida on a lads fishing trip I have a bit more creeping/decorating to do.
Thanks for the work you put into arranging these trips I do appreciate it.
Next time round I'm there.

Steve,
Similar situation here. Don't think I'm good enough not to need training, but have a 19 month old that demands my attention - luckily the wife allows me a day each month to have to myself, but a weekend is just pushing it, considering I work away a fair bit and therefore the wife is on her own during the week.
I think when Lee was down this way, many in a same situation could join in, for one or two days at their option.
Again, your hard work to create and manage these events is appreciated by all, including myself.

Hi Billy
I really appreciate everything that you and others in the Surrey TRF do to encourage less experienced riders. I only wish I had fewer commitments and could take advantage of training and rides more often. It's only time that stops me, especially in the winter months. I can also confirm that Lee Walters training is well worthwhile, having participated in a couple of sessions (in Wales and Surrey). If only I had the time to practise all the stuff I learnt…
Cheers

Re: Curious............
I'm of the opinion that you can never have too much training, no matter how experienced you are there's always something that can be taken away from listening to someone knowledgeable and practicing what they have to impart.
For me though, my injuries from last summer and the current lack of a bike after mine was nicked in November is what's keeping me away for now. Will have to wait and see how my hand and leg hold up after my South America jaunt at the end of next month before I can think about replacing the bike and getting back out there....
