Doh

Postby IMORTAL_Indian » Fri Oct 12, 2018 12:21 pm

So on my way home last weekend at about 6:30pm, I got as far as the petrol station in Epsom to give the old girl a wash..... put in £4 and after about 10 seconds all the lights went out. The cashier said it’s on a timer and nothing he could do...

Refunded me the £4 and just move away from the jetwash and noticed I had a flat on the front... fear not as I was in the right place at the right time :-). However air was not holding....

Wibble Wobble I limped back to Carshalton.

Took the front tyre off to get to the inner tube

Doh, so, 2 questions.

1. My front does. It have a rim lock. Where can i purchase just 1?

2. Where can I get a spare inner tube from today?

Thanks.
Amit.

That looks like you have the nut done up on the valve, hence why it has ripped out.

You should be able to get a rim lock and a tube from most MX shops, I would have a google and see what is near to you

Cheers Matt, looked up and gave me Lamba in Carshalton - Totally forgot about them. Called them up and they have tubes and RimLock... result.

Fleegle - Doh, shame I just saw your message. I purchased 2 tubes... appreciate the offer.

Now to YouTube... how to change inner tubes.

To to be out tomorrow.
Amit.

Try Gordon Farley in Guildford. They don't fit rim locks to new bikes with mooses so might have some lying around. When you fit the new tube, dont over-tighten the valve nut.

How hard can it be it be to:

1. Take off tyre
2. Take our inner tube
3. Fit rim lock
4. Put inner tube in tyre
5. Fit tyre to wheel

4 hours only to see that the direction of the wheel in going in the opposite direction .....

Anyone near Carshalton want to pop over and show me? I I can come to you if you are close to Cheam / Banstead from 6pm

Use one of these

https://www.demon-tweeks.com/uk/warrior ... src=aw.ds/

Get some long tyre spoons X 3
Get some decent tyre irons X 2/3
Get some bead buddies X 2
Get some tyre soap
Get the correct size rim lock

Optionally get a Mousse for your rear (no more flats), or Tubliss (they work for me).

YouTube.

Took the easy option ....

Front tyre as looking a little tired... ordered a new one and just gave it to the bike shop to sort out....
