So sorry to hear this.

Derek put so much into the group.

He summed up what it meant to be part of a fellowship.

He will be sorely missed.

RIP

RIP buddy, was only thinking of him today, what a loss, absolutely fantastic guy, always time for folk, I have nothing but fond memories of the guy.
Thanks for letting us know Steve, and if we can come and pay our respects, deepest condolences to family and friends.

I hadn't seen Derek for a long time and the last time was when he was fit and strong doing what he loved, riding the trails on his CRF250X(?)....with a trials back tyre!
That's the way I'll remember him.
A real gentleman and a big part of our club.

What devestating news, thinking of Derek’s family at this sad time. Derek put so much into our group and everything else he did. I will certainly miss him for so many reasons. I was lucky enough to enjoy his company just back in April on a midweek skivers run and pub lunch full of laughs and jokes. He will be much missed by many.

What a gent and left us with some wonderful memories.

My favourite memory was the excellent road book he put together for the the longest day event in 2014 where we rattled round into the surrey lanes on a treasure hunt and ended up back at Simons ranch for a bbq/fire and 'xmas' awards

May the good Lord grant him an elevated status in paradise

I’m so sorry to hear this. I loved the guy helped me out so many times and has lead me on so many runs.
Only last year while at his Sweetlamb trip he organised,he lent me his beloved Husaberg for the day because my stupid bike wouldn’t start. That was the sort of guy he was, always trying to help you out.
The thing I’ll always remember is the way he greeted everybody with such genuine warmth.
Lovely guy will be sorely missed.
