Same as a 250 KTM, seems a little bit underpowered to me unless you keep the revs up,which just seems wrong on a 4 stroke. Depends very much on your riding ability and what you are gonna do on it.You have got all the right suspension etc,but it seems it is a bike people grow out of quite quickly.Never owned one but ridden a couple,Muddy Mike on here has got one and he loves it (KTM,not Husaberg). If you are gonna buy new hang on for a while, they are bound to do deals when Husaberg are closed down to make way for the Huskys. What are you riding now?

Not riding anything at the moment had my klx 250 nicked 2 weeks ago . Insurance money comes through soon so on the look out. I want a bike with a bit more go, light , bhp between 30 -40 . ktm new exc 250 f = 7 grand. husaberg fe 250 = 5.8 on road delivered. budget is 6 grand, still a lot of money for a 250 scrambler. Any ideas welcome. Had my ceramic tiles nicked off site yesterday so no work today , so life going well at the moment.

Wow! Hopefully your spate of bad luck will change sharpish dude!!! With that budget and if it were me, I would be at a Beta dealer paying for a brand new 2014 Beta 300RR!!!! It's a 2 stroke mind, but will pull like a 450 4 Bang and guaranteed to make your eyes pop out on stalks!!!!

What standard rider and what are you using it for ? No point paying loads of money for something you`re gonna be bored with in 3 months.Loads of people trail riding with 2 strokes now, loads more fun,not as good on the road but you don`t buy a dirt bike for the road experience.Depending how they are set up some of the 250/300 2 strokes can be a bit much for any less experienced (or old and stupid, before anyone else says it) rider. Don`t rush into it, see if some one will lend you a bike before you spend all your money.

Age 50, over weight ,intermediate , mostly green laning but riding on road to get there. 2 strokes environmentally un friendly. Have been behind Smokey bikes and cant breath , plus all the 2 strokes I've had never start .Suzuki gt 250 1973 ktm 380 twin shock 1976, used to loose pounds trying to start that bike. From my cv what's the general recommendation?

Is that a 2014 model? For 2014 the 250 has a new engine, based on the design of the 350, I believe it has a lot more bottom end than the 2013 engine.

I recently switched from a 2007 EXC-F 250 to a 2012 EXC-F 350, I don't think I ever felt the 250 lacked power but the 350 is much more forgiving in that you can snap open the throttle at very low revs in a high gear and it will simply romp forward.

If the £6200 is for a brand new 2014 bike then that seems a good discount but I suspect it might be a 2013 model.
