Poxy Floods

Postby Billy » Mon Feb 10, 2014 8:51 pm

Anyone been affected ? I have been around the Southampton area today and had a lot of problems with roads closed, but managed to get everywhere that I needed to get to.Seen a lot of people pumping out their homes, felt so so sorry for them, so many possessions lost (I know they can be replaced) but you never get rid of the damp smell after flooding no matter what you do, and mostly it is not `clean`water. I was down in Christchurch last week, one of my customers said they had been evacuated 3 times from their mobile home park,95% of the residents were pensioners. Such a shame to see so many peoples lives devastated.

Detoured 7 times on the way to work this morning. Chersey bridge closed for the 2nd time and its only getting worse, much worse than before. A little boy of 7 died due to CO poisoning in the same area :(
Also the sewage is flowing through homes to a larger extent bringing with it all manner of things.
Its a time to be helping neighbours and friends. We're lucky to be on a slight hill but i'm driving past homes every day where the occupants have given up and moved on due to no heating, elec or because the first floor is going under.
Thames ditton, walton, chertsey, staines, egham, esher, molesey... Not looking good and the traffic is pretty bad.
If the water breaches the dual carriageway at work then its going to start wiping out egham. Good times.

My poor old mum got evacuated last weekend from Northmoor Oxon. She and about twenty other residents are now living in a Premier Inn.
