crockers lane/leith hill

Postby filthyflogger175 » Wed Mar 26, 2014 9:56 pm

Hi All,
Anyone know what's up with Crockers lane, there are road closed signs at either end, rode it today just to see why and found nothing which warranted these signs,or has someone found them and is having a laugh.

Highway Code seems to state that square signs are just advisory signs... Circular signs are orders. So I guess if its those red square ones its ok. But I wouldn't cross the blue police signs. They might be different. I'm sure it will all become clear when the copper is talking to you at roadside.

I was out on my pedal bike on sun and saw it said road closed (and also saw a group of bikes ignoring it). Last at the tower said there had been some water supply problems in the area so could be related to that. Also, a new mountain bike trail has been built on the side of the Jill next to the tower and some people have been complaining so they closed it the other just this week - could all be related.

It's the lane that runs from ( east - west ) GR442151 to GR431141 ( remember, you have to get in the house, before you can go up the stairs  ) or the one that goes from Coldharbour - Cockshot Farm.

the sign was at the bottom of leith hill all this week but it was gone Friday morning
looks like its all go

if i got there on my bike i would have just ridden past it
often its just some lunatic who found a sign and fitted it thinking it will fool someone - aha
