Guys I know we have a page on face book but it's pretty slow and not a lot of people use it ...
I know this is the place we post rides etc
But I think if we had a page that people liked as a interest and we had a few of us running it with regular up dates pictures videos , reviews on kit ..
Surely this would interest more potential members ????
Any one up for running the page ??
Just an idea so don't shoot me ok lol

Re: Surrey face book page
Everything you mention is available on this forum if people want it. Would having two places to put information not fragment that information. Or are you suggesting everyone posts everything twice.

Re: Surrey face book page
I'm not asking every one to post twice
I'm simply suggesting we could use face book to give people an insight to what and why we do it and if there interested in joining divert them to the forum
I only found out about this forum by chance

Why not divert them to this forum as soon as they open the Facebook page instead of duplicating information.

I think the point is that you have to actively seek the forum, where as Facebook has the Like and Share facilities so non TRF peeps get an insight into what it's all about, thus spreading the word.

Off the beaten track!.

I don`t use face book so don`t really understand it but what you say does now make sense. (and before anyone says anything about old people and technology you can #### off)

Having info "pushed" at you rather than having to log in and see it would be beneficial IMHO.
Well done for stepping up leejerome

Re: Surrey face book page
I think it could work well
We can have a few members manage the page and post stuff on there pictures from rides, usefull tips, reviews on kit and local venues . Just the basic information that would be usefull to trail riders TRF members or not !
Tro's , roads closures , TRF code of conduct
I'm sure we can embed a link to the face book page to the forum and how to become a member etc ....
I'm not asking to post routes up as I know they are like treasure maps to some
It will give us a bigger audience and show that we are not all dribbling off road bike riding hooligans .....
These are just my wild ideas I'm thinking of whilst typing so please correct me if I'm going off course

Good idea to use Facebook but think minimum information, just enough to get people on the Surrey TRF forum. This should be discussed at club night and see if anyone is prepared to do the work. Good idea though.

Agree with this comment. I'd err on the side of caution with what's put on Facebook and should be discussed more at club night.
Definitely a good idea. Pics and happiness to get people onto the forum/website.
Technical question, is the Surrey TRF page on Facecrack a community page, or did someone make it on a personal account? I'm hoping the former is true.
