Re: Bike for short person wanted!
Have to admit, I have extreme difficulty with my new KTM. I've had the machine lowered by removing the spacers in the front and rear shocks so I can get one foot on the floor (just about), but the issue I have is mounting/dismounting the bike. The seat height is just a little too high for me to comfortably get my leg over (by around 2") ... I've wound up flat on the floor with the bike on top of me on several occasions just getting on and off the damn thing.

A technique to try is to mount the bike when starting and dismount when stopping, with the bike moving slowly, rather than when stopped. I've seen many people use this technique successfully. Stand beside the bike, one foot o the peg, one on the ground, swing your leg over as you pull away, reverse the process to stop. Something like this:

Yep, I've seen that technique a couple of times before. Just need to get the balls together to practice it without ending up in a heap

If you let the tyres down you will gain a couple of inches.

I'm a short bum with a KTM, you have to learn to sort of leap up as you swing the leg over the bike..
