Michelin Comp 6 Tyres

Postby actonktm » Wed Nov 05, 2014 6:16 pm

New to offroad/enduro. Got a KTM 450 which needs new tyres. Am thinking of replacing with Enduro Michelin Comp 6. What do you think? Also reading about moussess - they seem like a good idea in comparison to air filled standard and heavy duty tubes.

Unless you're going to race, FIM tyres are a waste of money. Have a look at the Maxxis maxx cross IT.

Dont take advice from a man who spends most of his time on his ar$e.............The Comp 6 are supposed to be the dogs nuts, but you have to get the Michelin Desert Mousses as they are a slightly higher profile tyre. I use Comp 4 front and Comp 3 rear with standard Michelin mousses and I am happy with them. when my current mousses are fu##ed I will deffo go Comp 6 both ends. Give Rangers a call (down Salisbury way) they know what they are talking about, good prices and next day delivery.

Haha too right, too busy trying to keep up with you! It's not the tyres, it's who you're following!

Do you reckon I should purchase a rabaconda (http://rabaconda.com/) to change the mousses myself or pay KTM Centre in Hemel Hampsted £72 to fit.

Mike form endurotyres has offered to demo the rabaconda and change my tyres for free - really helpful guy.

Rabaconda + levers + lube will be around £250 - its more money but at least I will be able to change my own mousses in the future. £72 sounds like KTM Centre are taking the p***

Rabaconda is a good piece of kit and well worth the money. You are gonna need 4 levers for removal and 5 for fitting.

Bring them round my house in Farnborough and I'll be more than happy to do it for you for a tenner each wheel.

Thanks for the offer - may still head down to endurotyres just to have a look at the rabaconda. Will let you know how I get on. Need new levers and thinking of getting foldable ones what do you recommend?

I meant I have a Rabaconda so can show you......
Foldable levers will probably break before you even get your first tyre on, especially with mousses!
