Hi
One of my front indicators is hanging off and so I need to replace them. Not sure if I can just go out and buy any old similar indicators or are there particular requirements I need to look out for? I know some come in different lengths etc. Nothing in my useless manual to guide me and lots on the internet to choose from.
Tks Bev

Re: Replacement front indicators
Hi Bev,
If you're not buying original, my only advice would be to avoid LED's if you currently have bulb indicators and vise versa. If you have bulb indicators (as I do), you have to mess around with resistors etc to get the flash rates correct on the LED's to pass an MOT. So I like to keep it simple and stick with whatever type it originally came with.
Apart from that, measure what you need the indicator to stick out from (i.e. front light surround, tank shroud etc) and you can pick whatever is out there that takes your fancy.
OEM ones tend to be heavy and bulky, so there is an opportunity to save some weight, tidy the bike up a bit and most importantly for me, tuck them out of the way so they don't break every time you fall off
Hope that helps.

They're not LEDs and was going to stick to similar type of light. Not going to buy original Beta lights as it will be expensive, so will try and get ones the same but at half the price.
Thanks for advice

alternatively
get rid of them completely - use your boot. A short sharp kick when you're cross will work wonders

Re: Replacement front indicators
If you change them, I would get some that have a rubber stalk they tend to last a bit longer
something like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UNIVERSAL-FIT ... 2a34640235

Off the beaten track!.

I can recommend these: Rubber Motorcycle Indicators Pair 12v Amber Lens Universal Fitting Bulb Type http://r.ebay.com/nVlicu
Nicely made, neat, small and bendy so take some abuse (which I need).
