I was with Bev Sunday,I turned it over with the plug earthed on the exhaust,my eyesight is not that good (have you seen my wife) but Bev said there was plenty of spark...........

My 2p worth - does the bike have alarm/immobiliser fitted? I had a BMW previously which would start some times and not others. I could not establish a pattern and it drove me nuts. Turned out it was the immobiliser.

B.T.W. Bev, I couldn't remember where you said you got your hand guards from. Was it TMR Motocross in Horley?

At first when I read that I thought 'wow how high tech does he think this beta is?'

But then you got me thinking!!!!!!!!

What if its a faulty side stand switch causing it to cut out?

Edit:
Easy way to test if you know that you can start it with the stand down and the clutch pulled in. If true then next time it's being weird try pulling in clutch.

Also... Does it have a choke?

Dying to know what the fault is!!

No alarm or immobiliser. Told mechanic abt the side stand switch, ignition coil etc. He said that he wd check everything.

Thought I wd give quick update on bike. It's now working! Ws told the ignition Woodruff flywheel ket hd broke. Been out a couple of times and it seems to be running ok so far. Tks for all advice. Bev

Not only have I never heard of a woodruff key I never would have guessed it'd have been something to do with the stator on a bike so new. REFUND
