Does anyone know a welder around guildford?
I bought an xr250 back in September which had a welded on gear shift, the splines on the shaft have worn away. I was made aware of this fail and chose to take a gamble . However the weld came away yesterday morning in dorking (5th gear all the way home).
Looking at the manual I will need to split the crankcases to access the shaft...sooooo I'm looking to weld it back up... Any suggestions.

Top man!!!!
Thanks for that . I drove over after work and I’ve got it booked in for Saturday morning. A pair of mole grips for a shifter to get me over Newlands corner and it’s downhill all the way.
Cheers mate.
