Bike Normandy - 8/9 November 14 CANCELLED

Postby Stewie » Tue Jul 29, 2014 6:25 pm

Hi all, just a heads up, I'm heading back over to Bike Normandy in November for so more of there great hospitality and fantastic riding.

It would be the same as last time and would be paying for an extra night at BN, so far there are 3 of us, that's Phil, Roy and myself, would like to offer the chance to the Surrey TRF before putting it on other forums.

unfortunately I would say it's not for beginners ( Bike Normandy can cater for any skill level ), as a group I would say intermediate.

For those that don't know about BN here's there website - http://www.bikenormandy.com/testimonial ... in-europe/
and a ride report from the last time we went - https://surreytrf.gigatech.co.uk/viewto ... f=12&t=885

I would do all the booking etc, just makes things easier.

You just need a GSOH and a good appetite, skill level optional

If you have been to Bike Normandy, please leave a view so other can get an idea of the set up.
Off the beaten track!.

Hey Stewie,

Good to hear you have not disappeared after your spat with Mario! You were right btw.

Definitely interested in this, I have ridden a little of this area before and it is very good.

A bit more info, this is what I recommend -
-Friday 7th Nov 1200hrs ferry from Newhaven to Dieppe arrive at 1700hrs and on to BN for 1930-2000
-Ride Saturday
-Ride Sunday
Pay the extra for extended stay, and get the Mon 10th Nov 1800hrs ferry from Dieppe - Newhaven arrive 2100hrs.

The cost -
Bike Normandy £299
Extra Night £65
Ferry ( based on mid-size van ) £150ish

Once we have an idea on numbers ( 7 so far ) we can get together to sort out who has a van and who can go with who.

As I say it's just what I recommend, you can ride over on a uni-cycle if that's what floats your boat  , just be ready to ride for 0900hrs on the Sat/Sun.

I know it's a long way off yet, but I will require a £50 deposit and some info about you and your bike for there booking forms, I will send PM's soon, but the full amount is due 6 weeks prior to the date.

If your not sure, or can not commit this far ahead there will be a reserve list, so please express your interest :D
Preliminary rider list

Highly recommended! (Bike Normandy, not Stewie).

Excellent food and drink included. Good facilities to park and work on the bikes and some great riding - I seem to remember about 5 miles in a tiny stream, negotiating under-road tunnels - brilliant!

Sadly, I won't be available for this one :(
Maybe early next year:)

Sorry folks, just had an email from John at BN and they are unable run the weekend, and all the other dates are full for this year, John and Jen send there apologies, and have offered us the pick of next years dates that have not gone on the website yet.
I'm still up for going next year as is Phil and Roy, just need to look at the dates and I will start another thread, once again apologies.

Gutted for you guys. Looked amazing from the photos of last time.

Stewie, I'd be up for it myself next year once you have a date in mind.
