Just one question, have you set your sights on a new bike, I would be looking for a 1 or 2 year old machine, been run in and half the money, and may still have some warranty on it, and your only going to throw it around in the mud.......

Tricky,

I'm with Stewie and Billy. Aim for a nice lazy Exc 450. The tranny will be much better for any road journeys and you can adjust its animosity by changing the gearing with the sprockets.

EFI would be a bonus as much smoother, efficient and programmable.

The new WR450F is another good option too. Not the old one. It's very very very nimble. I was shocked.

It's old, but in my budget, got it off fleabay for the starting price as the vendor had spelt Husqvarna wrong,so it slipped under the radar, he also didn't mention that he had all the old MOTs and the bike had just been serviced and the valves clearances checked, . Been out a couple of times lots of pull all through the power range :D and it has the overdrive gear 6.

I think its about 118kgs, but its all relative, its a lot heavier than the 2smokes but a lightweight compared to the thumper. :D , first impressions are good, and I wanted a bike with road maners as well.
